Abstrak

Abstract

Often we hear the news of the theft of a motor vehicle at the boarding students. Tracking device and locking the vehicle using a GPS (Global Position System) and SMS (Short Message Service) through access to Google Map provides an alternative solution for vehicle tracking and security.

It consists of the application tracker, GPS tracker, and automatic relay. The position of the vehicle can be tracked using GPS technology combined with a microcontroller locater ATMega64 as processing instructions, and also the GSM module that serves to send location information to the tracker application that is installed on a computer. On the server, the admin can view the location information transmitted by the GPS tracker, and can view the location of vehicles on digital maps Google Map that has been integrated with the application tracker. To turn off the vehicle in certain circumstances can be done by sending an SMS to a mobile number attached to the module GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) on the GPS tracker.

Based on testing, it was concluded that the traffic on the network operators that are used are very influential on the speed of server applications and services to design a vehicle tracking device that is easy and safe to use.
